Wolves manager Vitor Pereira is now a regular at a local Wetherspoons – and enjoyed a night out over the weekend after all-but-securing his side’s survival in the Premier League for another year.

Pereira, who has now overseen the club’s longest top flight winning-streak in 53 years – four games – led Wolves to a 4-2 victory over Tottenham in the league on Sunday, with the Midlands-based club now up to 16th in the table – 14 points ahead of Ipswich in 18th and now just two points behind Spurs in 15th.

They were 19th in the table when he replaced the sacked Gary O’Neil at the end of 2024, having won two of their first 16 Premier League games. Since he took over, they have won eight and drawn two of their 16 league matches under the Portuguese.

And Sunday’s win was a cause for celebration for Pereira, and he took to The Moon Under Water on Lichfield Street, Wolverhampton, to meet fans following the three points.

Pereira was seen entering the building, hugging and greeting fans, in social media footage, with a beaming smile across his face. He also posed for snaps, including with two supporters and a flag that read: ‘Home supporters only.’

But it’s not the first time the 56-year-old has frequented the Spoons. He has been seen there several times – and even told fans after a win in March that he would be heading to the pub to celebrate.

Pereira has said his mantra is ‘points then the pints’, and previously booked into a pub last-minute on Christmas Day

‘Since the first game, we have this chemistry,’ Pereira said after Wolves’ 2-1 win over Southampton on March 18. ‘I think I am one of them. I am the guy to finish the game and go to the pub to drink two or three pints with them.

‘To stay home alone, I don’t like. What is the problem? Nothing. For me it is very normal, we don’t have a lot of restaurants here, at the pub I can eat a pie with a pint.’

On social media on Sunday, meanwhile, one fans shared footage of Pereira with fans inside the Spoons, where he was seen goading supporters into cheers to celebrate the win over Spurs.

Pints in the pub cost as low as £1.99, with punters able to pick up drinks such as Beck’s, Bud Light and Worthington’s Creamflow for less than £2 each.

Pereira’s favourite, though – a Guinness – will set him back £3.60 a pop. His mantra has been ‘first points, then pints’.

According to the Express and Star, meanwhile, Pereira stunned a landlord at The Fox and Shipley – a pub between Wolverhampton and Bridgnorth – just before Christmas Day when he enquired over whether there were any reservations.

Pub owner Kerry Brummell revealed she got a ‘last-minute’ call from Wolves asking if they could help with a table for Pereira and his staff, which came on Christmas Eve.

The pub was fully-booked, but a spot was found and Pereira and Co attended for their Christmas dinner.
