This faux Santa Claus landed himself on the naughty list.
Santa Claus is trying a different approach to high-speed deliveries this year, and it looks like he can’t be bothered to stop for the cops. A Florida man on a sport bike led highway patrol officers on a high-speed chase through traffic. This Kris Kringle impersonator may have traded in his sleigh for a performance motorcycle, but the lack of reindeer didn’t stop him from giving police the slip.
A fleeing Florida man dressed as Santa Claus sped away from a pursuing police officer at 120 mph
This Santa Claus lookalike may have just landed himself on the naughty list. A Florida Highway Patrol spotted the festive daredevil in full Santa Claus garb as he was weaving through traffic at high speeds. The police officer attempted to stop him with a traffic stop, but the Florida man chose instead to roll onto the throttle. The chase was on.
As expected, the sport bike left the comparably sluggish patrol vehicle in the dust. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the fleeing rider hit speeds of around 120 mph while evading his police pursuers. At one point in time, the motorcyclist slowed enough to take a right-hand exit. The man on the motorcycle led the police officer through a gas station, weaving around pumps in an attempt to shake off his pursuer.
After leading the police officer on a detour through the gas station, the Florida man leaned right and back onto the highway. From there, the highway patrol officer swung his cruiser’s nose onto the pavement just in time to watch the sport bike Santa grip the throttle and disappear into the night.
The Flordia Highway Patrol is still looking for the motorcyclist. They described the bike as a white motorcycle with blue accenting. It’s a fairly typical livery for a Suzuki GSX-R, a popular lightweight performance motorcycle. Unlike many high-speed chases that end in injury or death, this Santa Claus will have to settle for a lump of coal rather than handcuffs for now.
