The new RT-XD4 engine with 35.45 PS of peak power and 28.5 Nm of peak torque is likely to debut with upcoming TVS Apache RTX 300 ADV
The partnership between TVS Motor and BMW Motorrad has successfully spawned 5 vehicles. Three vehicles for BMW (G 310 R, G 310 RR, G 310 GS) and two for TVS (Apache RR 310 and Apache RTR 310). There were speculations of a third TVS vehicle based on this platform taking the shape of an ADV.
However, TVS’s first ADV seems to be positioned on the company’s new 300cc RT-XD4 engine as suggested by spy shots. There are new spy shots of this upcoming motorcycle revealing the front section, showing a split headlight design. Thus striking an imposing look and appearance, inducing commanding road presence.
TVS Apache RTX 300 ADV
For a very long time, Indian motorcycling fraternity craved an ADV bike from TVS Motor. Expectations were that it would be a brand-engineered version of BMW G 310 GS featuring a similar powertrain and componentry. However, TVS is doing things differently, as suggested by spy shots of upcoming Apache RTX 300 ADV.
This is TVS’ first-ever ADV and the company might launch a more off-road-worthy version of this vehicle in the future. The recent spy shots show this bike’s front section. Apache RTX 300 ADV features a split headlight design with individual high and low beam sections, similar to Apache RR 310.
The camouflage of the first set of Apache RTX spy shots looked like there was a sleek LED headlight strip. But that is not the case and Apache RTX gets proper chambers for low and high beams. These look like LED reflector headlight setups. The tall windshield lends a distinct look while protecting the rider from wind blasts.
What to expect?
TVS Motor has trademarked the name ‘TVS Apache RTX’ and we can see a displacement suffix (300) at the end too. This motorcycle seems to be based on a trellis frame with semi-fairing for wind protection, a front beak and handlebar-mounted ORVMs. There are USD telescopic front forks and a rear swingarm-mounted mono-shock suspension setup.
There’s a scooped-out seat for lower rider seat height, a clean rear section with LED tail lights and LED turn indicators, an up-swept exhaust with twin tips, a large rear luggage rack, 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels wrapped with dual-sport block pattern tyres. We can also see chunky side guards with auxiliary lights, which can be official accessories or even standard fitment in a top-spec variant.
TVS Apache RTX 300 ADV spy shots show a forward-inclined engine, suggesting that it could be powered by TVS’ new RT-XD4 engine, which was showcased recently at MotoSoul 2024. This engine is capable of generating 35.45 PS of peak power and 28.5 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Launch is likely to happen sometime in 2025.
