Erik ten Hag attends mammoth Serie A clash as fresh job opportunity emerges

Erik ten Hag has dropped a major clue over his next role after being spotted in Italy. The Dutchman has been without a job since being sacked by Manchester United in October.

The Red Devils moved quickly to replace the former Ajax head coach but Ten Hag himself has chosen to bide his time to jump back into management. He was linked with a return to his former club Ajax, while Borussia Dortmund were also reportedly admirers amid an awful run of form.

But it appears that Italian giants Juventus and Roma could be options for his services after Ten Hag was spotted in Turin. The 55-year-old was spotted arriving at the Stadio Olimpico ahead of Roma ’s Serie A clash with Juventus.

He was featured in a video arriving at the stadium before being spotted in the stands during the game which finished 1-1 between the two Italian giants. Both clubs could potentially be on the lookout for new managers sooner rather than later.

Interim Roma boss Claudio Ranieri will leave the club at the end of the campaign. Juventus in the meantime sacked Thiago Motta last month, appointing Igor Tudor as his successor.

Roma have already confirmed that Ten Hag was in attendance as a guest of the Friedkin family to watch the game. As per The Sun, he checked into a hotel the morning of the game which is usually reserved for new signings.

Ten Hag has already spoken out on his next move and suggested that he may never take another role in football. “There are so many other things I could do,” he said on the SEG Stories podcast. “Maybe in football, in a new position as a manager. That’s an option. And maybe something completely different.

“I’ve been working with my brothers lately. We have our own company. Or rather: they have their own company. But we also run a company together with our father. That’s also something I love to do I can now give that more attention and it’s also a lot of fun.”

Elsewhere, Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has already spoken out on his club’s search for a new manager and even hinted that Tudor could be retained. Speaking in a press conference, he said: “I wanted to thank Thiago Motta and his staff for their great work in recent months.

“I also wanted to clarify that the relationship with Thiago will remain one of great esteem. We took some time to reflect after my words in Florence, and decided to make a change for the team and for Juventus.

“Our choice immediately was for Igor, especially given his technical and moral qualities. Igor will stay with us until the end of the season, including the Club World Cup. Then we will meet up and the hope is to move forwards together. We believe in the team a lot, and we are very confident for the future.”
