The sporting calendar is nearly done and dusted for 2024, so it’s time to see how much you can remember from the past 12 months in our big Sky Sports quiz of the year!
Manchester City continued their Premier League dominance and Real Madrid extended their record as the most successful team in Champions League history, while Gareth Southgate’s England reign ended with another near-miss in the Euro 2024 final.
We saw Joe Root set a new Test landmark and Rory McIlroy continue to fall short in his bid for a fifth men’s golf major title, despite a successful campaign, as tennis saw the end of an era with Sir Andy Murray and Rafael Nadal both retiring.
There was another successful performance for Team GB in the Olympics – Keely Hodgkinson and Alex Yee among the Brits to impress, with Dame Sarah Storey adding new honours to her historic career during the Paralympics.
The men’s heavyweight division provided multiple big-name fights in 2024, with rising stars also emerging in boxing, while the two Lukes – Luke Littler and Luke Humphries – dominated darts and took the sport to all-time interest levels.
