The Cathedral City Police Department arrested a Santa Monica man for allegedly making a false bomb threat on Saturday.
The Palm Springs Police Department, which assisted in the arrest, said on social media that suspect Davis Darvish was reported as driving a white Tesla before the arrest was made.
Police said they first located Darvish’s vehicle before finding Darvish nearby and detaining him without incident.
Palm Springs police had urged the public to stay away from the area around South Calle El Segundo and Saturino Road between 1:41 p.m. and about 3:30 p.m.
Local resident Brian Volz said police searched a white car outside the Village Traditions housing complex at around 2:40 p.m. near Baristo Park and Saturino Road. He said the car was not present when he arrived home at 1 p.m., and a police officer knocked on doors to tell people not to go outside earlier that day.
