Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has sent his immediate reaction following the 1-1 Premier League draw against Brighton & Hove Albion on the road.
The Gunners opened the scoring at the Amex Stadium through Ethan Nwaneri and managed to hold onto the lead until the interval.
In the second half, the London giants looked second-best on most occasions and eventually conceded the equaliser from the penalty spot.
William Saliba was adjudged to have headbutted Joao Pedro in the box, but replays showed that he made contact with the ball first.
Speaking after the 1-1 draw, Arteta said that the penalty incident was bizarre and he has never seen such a decision in his career.
He said: “Bizarre. That means we have probably never seen it before. I haven’t in my career. So it is a new one.”
With the stalemate, Arsenal are within five points of league leaders Liverpool, but the Reds have a couple of games in hand.
