When most people think of Miami Beach, they may think of things like bustling nightlife, sizzling Cuban food, and white sand beaches. But according to a new study by Upgraded Points, a credit card and points travel news site, the South Florida city should be known for one more thing: romance.
According to its study, The Best Domestic Honeymoon Destinations, Miami Beach is the best honeymoon destination in the U.S. for 2025. For its analysis, Upgraded Points evaluated more than 75 vacation-focused American destinations across 15 ranking factors such as the availability of romantic lodging, affordability, and couple-friendly experiences. Miami beach beat out places like Lake Tahoe, California; Napa, California; Savannah, Georgia; and even Honolulu for the top spot.
But when you consider Miami Beach’s vibrant culinary scene (including its wealth of Michelin-starred restaurants), museums, and hotels, it only makes sense that the city is ripe for romance. Miami Beach scored high in the report, with 7.72 romantic stays and 32.33 romantic restaurants per 10,000 residents—far above the national averages.
For honeymooners eager to turn up the heat (literally and figuratively), Miami Beach offers plenty of memorable ways to celebrate the start of your forever. Book a suite at a swanky beachfront hotel like The Setai Miami Beach or the Faena Hotel Miami Beach, both of which made Travel + Leisure‘s World’s Best Awards list in 2024. After you check in, tuck into a candlelit dinner at romantic institutions like Casa Tua or Mila.
Couples exhausted after wedding festivities can reconnect while lounging in luxury poolside cabanas or cruising Biscayne Bay on a private charter. Artsy couples can wander hand-in-hand through the Bass Museum of Art or snap selfies in front of their favorite murals at nearby Wynwood Walls murals. Active newlyweds can extend their freshly wedded bliss with a couples massage at the adults-only the Standard Spa or with a sunrise yoga class on the beach.
If you want to dance the night away together, you’re in the right place—stay up late at Mango’s Tropical Café (sure, it’s campy, but this restaurant and nightclub slings cocktails and live Latin music until 5 a.m.) or hit up Liv Nightclub, a megaclub located inside the Fontainebleau Miami Beach resort featuring world-class DJs.
Whether you’re after serenity or celebration, sunny Miami Beach promises a honeymoon with tropical flair—no passport required.
