Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount will be sidelined until March following a leg injury sustained during the Manchester derby, according to TalkSPORT.
The England international has had an injury-plagued career with the Red Devils and he picked up another setback in the derby win over Manchester City this month.
United manager Ruben Amorim recently said that he will be sidelined for many weeks, but reports claim that the midfielder won’t return to action until March at least.
The setback is much severe than initially thought. Amorim continues to keep the faith in the former Chelsea man and it is claimed that his future is safe with the club.
Regardless of what happens this season, Mount is widely expected to continue with United next term due to Amorim’s confidence in his ability.
Aside from Mount, Luke Shaw and Victor Lindelof are also long-term absentees with injuries. They are likewise expected to be sidelined for the next couple of months.
