My cofounder Puneet and I (Roop) are looking for a founding engineer! We’re based in San Francisco and building a product to change how buildings get built—because the white-collar work in construction is brutal. We raised from Khosla Ventures before demo day.
We’re tackling the painful, manual tasks behind every project: reading blueprints, estimating costs, and applying for permits. Our goal is to make it radically easier to plan and build everything—from multi-family housing and schools to hospitals and data centers.
As our founding engineer, you’ll be working really closely with us, with a ton of autonomy.
Together, we’ll
- Focus on the intelligence-layer instead of the application-layer
- Design and implement core algorithms and systems to understand blueprints
- Apply the newest computer vision, LLM models, and AI systems
- Evaluate our models and strive to beat our own benchmarks
- Ship initial prototypes quickly, and improve them based on user feedback
We’re a match if you
- Have experience building full-stack products from 0 to 1, especially infra/frontend because those are my weaknesses.
- Have a growth mindset. Your ability to learn AI > your current knowledge of AI, I’m happy to teach.
- Would enjoy sailing into uncharted (and sometimes stormy) waters with us.
- Are based in SF or willing to relocate (we value in-person collaboration).
- Can communicate with empathy and honesty. We hold feedback sessions so you can tell us what you like and don’t like about us every week.
- Don’t mind schlep. Puneet and I are regularly knee-deep in schlep.
I’ll be super excited if you
- Have built something people used/paid for (founder/startup)
- Have experience with computer vision or related ML fields
- Have domain knowledge about construction, architecture, or real estate
- Are driven by positive impact on the world
