They found a woman inside a pickup truck on the passenger side, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Then the cops followed a trail of blood coming from the truck that led to a second scene at Slauson and Gifford. They discovered a male suffering a gunshot wound to the face that was miraculously still alive.
According to KTLA, investigators believe that the male was in the vehicle with the female or standing outside of it when they were shot at.
Information surrounding the man’s condition hasn’t been released. He was probably taken to a local hospital due to his injuries.
Police officers also didn’t release the names of the victims as the incident is part of an ongoing investigation. It’s unclear if they have any suspects lined up. The truck is likely being held as evidence.
A homicide detective was helping to investigate the scene. The motive for the shooting is unclear but detectives do not believe it was gang-related.
Investigating officers didn’t share if they found guns, weapons, bullet casings, or any type of evidence that could lead to a suspect or arrest. They might be waiting for the man in the hospital to share his side of the story.
