Where powertrains are concerned, Kia Syros is the first vehicle from the company to pack a Turbo Petrol Manual combination
The sub 4m SUV segment has witnessed a massive uproar with multiple new vehicles launched. Kia is increasing its presence in this segment with soon-to-launch Syros. This is positioned above Sonet and below Seltos with space and features to match. Ahead of a launch, Kia Syros mid variant is spied on the road without any camouflage. Let’s take a look.
Kia Syros Mid Variant
Positioned on a modified version of K1 platform, one can say that Syros is Kia’s counterpart of Hyundai Casper sold in global markets. Or Hyundai Exter’s Kia counterpart. But the Kia badge ensures that it is significantly more premium and feature-loaded with an emphasis for technology and safety.
Donning the company’s latest design language, Kia Syros is not for everyone. If the goal was to stand out in the segment, Syros has already succeeded. The car looks like nothing on sale in India and that might prove polarizing for buyers. However, Kia Syros more than makes up for it in features and practicality departments.
While we have seen the top-spec variants showcased at the launch event in multiple colours. These recent spy shots show Kia Syros mid variant, as confirmed by the lack of rear washer and wiper. Syros is offered in 6 trim levels – HTK, HTK (O), HTK+, HTX, HTX+ and HTX+ (O). There are 8 monotone colours offered by Kia with Frost Blue being the launch colour.
As seen in the spy shots, Kia Syros is trundling along public roads without any camouflage. These real world spy shots of Kia Syros without any camouflage, lend us a perspective on this vehicle’s road presence and appeal. This SUV looks very tall and imposing like a tall-boy vehicle should.
While overtaking a Mahindra Marazzo, we can see the sense of height Kia Syros has. For context, Marazzo is 1,774 mm in height and Syros is 1,680 mm. Certainly impressive for a monocoque vehicle, as opposed to the body-on-frame construction of Marazzo. Also, the Aurora Black Pearl shade seen in these spy shots looks stealthy.
