Katy Perry Goes to Space: Watch Online

Katy Perry has been making headlines as the latest celebrity set on blasting off into space. Now, the “Firework” and “Roar” pop star’s time has officially come.

On the morning of Monday, April 14, Perry will join “CBS Mornings” journalist Gayle King on the New Shepard ship. The Blue Origin launch from Launch Site One, located in West Texas, is set for roughly 9:30 a.m. ET, although Blue Origin flights have launched ahead of schedule in past years.

Perry fans can check out the launch through USA Today’s livestream, with Blue Origin covering it live on X starting at 8 a.m. ET. Paramount+’s coverage will commence at 7 a.m. ET during “CBS Mornings” and a 9 a.m. ET segment titled “Gayle Goes to Space.”

During the voyage, Perry, King and four other women will get to experience a few minutes of weightlessness on the edge of space along a 62-mile-high boundary. To date, the ship has successfully taken 48 people to space since Blue Origin founder Jeff Bezos sold the first tickets for $28 million.

Ahead of her voyage to see the stars, Perry told the Associated Press that she has “always been interested in astrophysics and interested in astronomy and astrology and the stars. We are all made of stardust and we all come from the stars.”

Perry went on to say: “I am talking to myself every day and going, ‘You’re brave, you’re bold, you are doing this for the next generation to inspire so many different people.’”

Perry and King will be joined by Bezos’ fiancee and Emmy-award winning journalist Lauren Sánchez, former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen and “This Changes Everything” film producer Kerianne Flynn.
