Hyundai revisits the “lounge on wheels” vision with a teaser rendition of its upcoming flagship Ioniq 9 battery-electric SUV.
As its first 3-row BEV, Hyundai says this is a milestone for its commitment to an electrified future for its products.
The vehicle, scheduled to make its global debut next week at the Los Angeles auto show, has a design language dominated by aerodynamics while the interior lounge is focused on passenger relaxation.
Ioniq 9 employs Hyundai’s Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) which promises a spacious cabin featuring a flat floor across all three rows, aiding easy movement within the vehicle.
Cabin features include soft, elliptical design elements such as the door trim and door handles that hope to enhance the serene and sophisticated interior environment.
With three seating rows, the vehicle will accommodate up to seven people and boasts flexibility in seating arrangements to suit user requirements.
Simon Loasby, senior vice president and head of Hyundai Design Center, says: “Ioniq 9 offers the ultimate lounge-like environment. Its nature-inspired, lounge-like interior reflects our progressive approach of how we envision the technology, customer-centric design and tranquility, coming together seamlessly in the future of mobility.”
