Indian electric car space has been evolving at a decent pace. We now have electric vehicles across multiple size brackets and price brackets. The first electric car launch of 2025, is Hyundai Creta EV and the company has commenced bookings of this eSUV ahead of launch. Let’s take a look at finer details including colour options and trims.
Hyundai Creta Electric Bookings
The electric counterpart of India’s best-selling compact SUV, Hyundai Creta Electric, has been unveiled recently. It has created a lot of buzz among the automotive fraternity. Considering that it is an electric version of Creta, outreach and sales potential of this EV is immense. We can see that it is among the most influential electric cars in India.
Hyundai has commenced bookings of Creta Electric ahead of launch via online and offline mediums. The booking amount for both is set at a nominal Rs 25,000. Most of the details of Creta Electric have been revealed, including trim levels and colour options, helping buyers to have some ground-level information while booking.
Creta Electric is being offered in five trim levels – Executive, Smart, Smart (O), Premium and Excellence. Smart (O) is the only trim that gets both 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh battery options. Offering the larger battery option with mid-spec Smart (O) trim is a, well, smart move, making it more convenient for buyers on a budget.
There are five metallic colours to choose from – Atlas White, Abyss Black Pearl, Fiery Red Pearl, Starry Night and an exclusive to Creta Electric, Ocean Blue shade. There are three matte colours too – Robust Emerald Matte, Titan Grey Matte and the exclusive Ocean Blue Matte. Hyundai is also offering two dual-tone options with Black roof with Atlas White and Ocean Blue.
Atlas White is a safe bet for many Indian buyers and the company is offering it with all trim levels. Abyss Black Pearl is offered from Smart trim and above. Rest of the shades are offered form Smart (O) trim and above. Launch is happening on January 17th, 2025, and prices are expected to be competitive.
What to expect?
Where design is concerned, Hyundai Creta Electric looks like a bridge between standard ICE Creta and Creta N Line. It has a unique fascia with a closed-off active grill, but it somewhat reminds us of Creta N Line. The front and rear bumpers are unique to Creta Electric. More noticeable changes are on the inside.
Creta Electric gets a new steering wheel inspired by Hyundai’s global Ioniq lineup. It gets Hyundai’s quad-dot logo on steering along with a steering column-mounted gear selector. There’s a V2L socket on the inside too and Hyundai digital key. Other features like dual 10.2-inch screens, Bose audio, level-2 ADAS, 360-degree camera, blindspot monitoring, and front ventilated seats are similar to ICE Creta.
Powering the Hyundai Creta Electric are two battery options – 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh. The larger 51.4 kWh battery pack offers a claimed range of 473 km on a single charge. There’s DC fast charging support along with AC charging. Performance ceiling on Creta Electric is higher than that of Creta N Line, promising a 0-100 km/h sprint in 7.9 seconds.
