The Golden Globes has unveiled its 2026 ceremony date — and it’s moving back a week. The 83rd annual Golden Globes is set to be held on Sunday, Jan. 11, at 8 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. PT, the org announced Thursday. (The ceremony is frequently held the first weekend of January, but will shift to the second weekend of January in 2026.)
The 83rd Golden Globes will once again be telecast live on CBS and streamed on Paramount+ in the U.S. Also back, as previously announced: Host Nikki Glaser, who earned high marks for her performance as host of the 2025 Globes. Also per usual, the Globes will be broadcast live from the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif.
Nominations for the 83rd Golden Globes will take place on Monday, Dec. 8, with additional information on the show’s awards timeline to be announced soon. Dick Clark Prods. is behind the annual Golden Globes, which calls itself “Hollywood’s Party of the Year” and is traditionally positioned as the first major awards show of the season; it also is the most-watched awards show to honor both film and TV simultaneously.
This reps the second installment in a five-year deal that CBS/Paramount sealed with the Globes and Dick Clark Prods. in 2024 to take over as the home for both the Golden Globes and American Music Awards. (Variety parent company PMC owns Dick Clark Prods. in a joint venture with Eldridge.)
The Globes announced last month that Glaser would return for a second year in a row as host after helming the award show’s 2025 edition. The most recent Globes posted an average of 9.3 million viewers per Nielsen, a slight dip from 9.4 million in 2024.
“Hosting the Golden Globes this year was without a doubt the most fun I have ever had in my career,” Glaser said in a statement at the time. “I can’t wait to do it again, and this time in front of the team from ‘The White Lotus’ who will finally recognize my talent and cast me in Season 4 as a Scandinavian Pilates instructor with a shadowy past.”
The Globes announcement comes as the 2026 awards season calendar starts to fill up: The Oscars take place March 15, on ABC; the Screen Actors Guild Awards will hold their 32nd annual ceremony on Sunday, March 1, telecast on Netflix; and the Producers Guild Awards ceremony is on Feb. 28.
