In May 2024, Anne Hathaway stunned the world in an all-white Gap look at the Bulgari Aeterna High Jewelry Event in Rome. The actress, known for donning the most high-profile fashion houses, sported a custom poplin shirtdress designed by none other than Gap Inc.’s recently appointed creative director, Zac Posen. That same month, the dress became available on gap.com and sold out pretty much instantly. It’s now back in stock nearly a year later thanks to the launch of GapStudio, a collection of premium, elevated essentials designed by Posen himself.

The Poplin Maxi Shirtdress is made from 100-percent organic cotton and retails for $158. While it was initially only available in white, the piece now comes in off white, khaki tan and navy blue with white polkadots.

For reference, the style was previously listed as: Poplin Shirtdress Created by Zac Posen. Since the launch of GapStudio, it has been rereleased and renamed: GapStudio Poplin Maxi Shirtdress.

“Designing this custom white shirt dress was an exciting opportunity to reimagine Gap’s classic white shirt,” said Posen in 2024. “By incorporating elements like the shirt’s collar and placket, and adding feminine touches with darting at the waist, we created a modern look that pays homage to the elegance of Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday,” the designer continued.

For Anne Hathaway’s full look, celebrity stylist Erin Walsh paired the deconstructed dress with white pumps, a semi-sheer corset and mini shorts. Hathaway was also, of course, dripping in Bulgari jewels.
