Food & Wine Classic Is Returning to Charleston This Year

  • The Food & Wine Classic is returning to Charleston for its second year.
  • Highlights will include seminars and demonstrations from culinary stars and the Grand Tasting event.
  • Tickets for the festival go on sale May 15.

Food and wine lovers in the South, get ready to give your taste buds a treat. After a successful inaugural event last year, the Food & Wine Classic is coming back to Charleston from Nov. 14-16. The event is a collaboration between Food & Wine, Southern Living, and Travel + Leisure, and will be presented by Explore Charleston.

Food & Wine has hosted its celebrated event in Aspen for many decades and launched this extension event in the South last year to great success.

“We’re excited to return to Charleston for another unforgettable weekend of world-class culinary experiences,” Hunter Lewis, Food & Wine’s editor-in-chief, shared in a statement. “Charleston’s rich food culture, breathtaking scenery, and signature Southern hospitality create an atmosphere unlike any other. Alongside our partners at Southern Living and T+L, we’re looking forward to spotlighting this dynamic culinary destination, and to bringing together our passionate culinary community to celebrate, learn, and savor everything this vibrant city has to offer.”

Guests of the Classic are enjoying the Grand Tasting.

The event includes three days of cooking demonstrations, wine and cocktail seminars, wine and food tastings, and spirits seminars led by notable culinary and beverage stars like Maneet Chauhan, Julia Coney, Tyler Florence, Anthony Giglio, Melissa King, Emeril Lagasse and E.J. Lagasse, Wanda Mann, Amanda McCrossin, Kwame Onwuachi, Ray Isle, Gail Simmons, Claudette Zepeda, and Andrew Zimmern, and more to be announced in the coming months.

The weekend will also feature Classic’s famous Grand Tasting, which will bring together hundreds of international winemakers and distillers.

Southern Living will host its Lowcountry Tailgate, where participants can enjoy BBQ by Hector Garate and other Southern traditions from Emeril Lagasse and EJ Lagasse.

Tours of Charleston that highlight its local culture are curated by T+L editor-in-chief Jacqui Gifford.

Tickets can be purchased on May 15 at 12 p.m. ET from foodandwineclassicincharleston.com.
