43-year-old unlicensed Florida driver is facing charges after leading police on a 100 mph chase

They knew he was driving under the influence before even speaking to him.

Driving while under the influence of any substances is never a good idea. Still, many people do this each year regardless of the volume of car wrecks it causes. Recently, a Florida driver got behind the wheel after drinking and then led police on a dangerous high-speed chase to avoid a traffic stop. Now, he’s facing some pretty hefty charges for his destructive actions.

Driving under the influence and then evading a traffic stop is a horrible combination

According to Fox 13 News, police officers in Pinellas County tried to pull over a driver on December 26th for a traffic stop. Apparently, this was only a routine stop, but the driver, Rasha Kadron Honors, 43, refused to pull over and talk to the officers. Of course, this led to a high-speed chase, which is always a risk to public safety. The driver in question was in a Ram truck.

As the police on the scene continued trying to make the traffic stop, it became abundantly clear that the man was driving while under the influence. This is the case because they saw him violate multiple road rules, including increasing his speed to more than 100 miles per hour. The chase came to an end when the officers used spike strips and a PIT maneuver on the speeding vehicle.

Naturally, the police officers placed the man into handcuffs after they successfully made the traffic stop. Now, he’s facing multiple charges, including driving while under the influence, fleeing and eluding deputies, and driving without a valid driver’s license. It’s unknown if he is still behind bars at the time of writing.
