February is led by the release of “Punch-Drunk Love,” Paul Thomas Anderson’s off-kilter rom-com. The film is getting the 4K UHD release that includes a 4K digital restoration, supervised and approved by Anderson, with Dolby Atmos soundtrack. In addition, there are just a ton of special features, including a short film starring Adam Sandler and Emily Watson.
Next, we have “Drugstore Cowboy,” the 1989 addiction drama by filmmaker Gus Van Sant. The Criterion release includes a new 4K digital restoration overseen by Van Sant. Then there’s a behind-the-scenes doc, featuring interviews with the filmmaker and members of the cast and crew.

While February is definitely a time for love, Criterion is also releasing something a bit spooky with Guillermo del Toro’s “Cronos.” Once again, this disc sports a new 4K digital restoration of the 1993 film. There are also special features like a tour of del Toro’s famous home, filled with amazing artifacts. Then you have “Geometria,” an unreleased 1987 short horror film by del Toro, finished in 2010, alongside an interview with the director.
Rounding out February’s releases, there are films such as “King Lear,” Jean-Luc Godard’s radical anti-adaptation of Shakespeare, “Crossing Delancey,” a love letter to 1980s Manhattan directed by Joan Micklin Silver, and “Performance,” a transgressive journey to the dark side of London bohemia, directed by Donald Cammell and Nicolas Roeg.
