Warangal: Panchayat raj minister Seethakka on Wednesday said the state government is seriously trying to empower farmers and with Godavari water, the entire Mulugu constituency will be transformed into a fertile region. The minister said this while releasing water from Mulugu pump house to Jangalapally Banjara Cheruvu in Mulugu district.
Seethakka criticised the BRS government for its failure to provide water to Mulugu constituency. She alleged it had instead diverted water to Siddipet and Sircilla.
She outlined her plans to address the region’s water scarcity and announced that in the coming days, water from Mulugu pump house will be supplied for two crops to farmers of Kothaguda and Gangaram mandals. Water will also be supplied to Laknavaram from Mulugu pump house through a canal via Kashimdevipet.
The ultimate goal of the state government is to uplift farmers and to ensure they have adequate water resources for their irrigation needs and strengthen the agricultural economy of the state, she added.
DCC president Paidakula Ashok, libraries department chairman Banoth Ravi Chander and Congress party mandal leaders were present at the event.
