Pumped-up Dundee United are braced to fight their corner after Celtic launched a complaint over ticket pricing for their potential title party at Tannadice.

Punters in both ends are being charged up to ÂŁ42 for a single match brief, however, Parkhead chiefs have taken issue with what they believe is a potential rule breach due to home fans being able to bring a friend for ÂŁ10.

The complaint to the SPFL will look to see if Rule I31 has been breached and if it is proven to be then it could put at risk incentives and deals affecting fixtures across Scotland.

A Celtic statement read: “Following the announcement of ticket arrangements for our forthcoming Scottish Premiership match against Dundee United at Tannadice on Saturday, April 26, we can confirm that we have raised a number of concerns with the SPFL.”

Rule I31 states teams are “prohibited from charging higher admission prices to accommodation designated for supporters of the visiting club than for broadly comparable accommodation designated for use by supporters of the home club at the same match.”

But United – according to Courier Sport – have associated the price increase due to the added stewarding and policing fees which come with a fixture which could see Celtic become champions again for the 13th time in the past 14 seasons.

Celtic fans are heading for a Tannadice party

Tannadice chiefs are bullish in believing their position is strong due to both teams paying the same bar the promotion, which is in place to a limited number of fans.
