Delta Adds New Flights to Grenada and St. Vincent and the Grenadines

This December, travelers will have plenty of new options for escaping the chilly winter weather. Delta Air Lines just announced it’s launching a slew of new flights to the Caribbean and Latin America at the end of the year.

Beginning Dec. 20, Delta will launch two new routes from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) to Argyle International Airport (SVD) in St. Vincent and the Grenadines and to Maurice Bishop International Airport (GND) in Grenada. Both routes will operate once a week, and Delta will be the only U.S. carrier with nonstop service to both locations from Atlanta.

“With two brand-new destinations in the Eastern Caribbean, Delta is expanding its offering in the region, with even more seats to Latin America and the Caribbean this winter,” Paul Baldoni, senior vice president of network planning at Delta, said in a statement shared with Travel + Leisure.

Delta Air Lines also announced an expansion of service to 14 additional destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean for the winter. “Customers across the U.S. will also benefit from more flights to top destinations from hubs in the Midwest and Northeast, as well as new direct service from key cities like Austin, Nashville and Raleigh-Durham,” Baldoni said in the statement.

A new service from Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) to Owen Roberts International Airport (GCM) in Grand Cayman will run on Saturdays starting Dec. 20. The airline will also launch a new route from Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport (MSP) to Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS) in Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas, as well.

Service to Cancun International Airport (CUN) will expand during the winter season from eight airports, including: John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), DTW, Austin–Bergstrom International Airport (AUS), Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), Nashville International Airport (BNA), Indianapolis International Airport (IND), and Kansas City International Airport (MCI).

Additionally, Atlanta will get expanded service to eight airports across Central America and the Caribbean, including: Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) in the Dominican Republic; Cyril E. King Airport (STT) in St. Thomas; La Aurora International Airport (GUA) in Guatemala City; Providenciales International Airport (PLS) in Turks and Caicos; El Salvador International Airport (SAL); Tocumen International Airport Panama (PTY); Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport (BZE) in Belize City; and Mexico’s Guadalajara International Airport (GDL).

Delta announced three new routes between AUS and Los Cabos International Airport (SJD); Raleigh–Durham International Airport (RDU) to Luis Munoz Marin International Airport (SJU) in San Juan, Puerto Rico; and BOS and STT. The carrier is increasing the frequency of some routes like those between Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) and LAX to Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR), and between DTW to NAS.
