Netflix’s Cobra Kai Season 6 Part 2 Soundtrack Single Debut

When last we saw the characters of Cobra Kai, almost the entire crew—friends, frenemies, and bitter foes alike—had assembled in Barcelona for the Sekai Taikai, an elite tournament to determine martial arts supremacy. We’re fully expecting some emotional arcs to go along with all that ass-kicking (Tory, for instance, has some explaining to do), but the elaborate fight scenes are always one of the great joys of watching the Netflix hit. The season six soundtrack is coming along with the latest chunk of episodes, and io9 is thrilled to debut the first single as well as the cover art.

The retro-tinged instrumental is titled “Enter the Sekai Taikai,” and it’s by series soundtrack composers Leo Birenberg and Zach Robinson. Here’s what a press release has to say about the song:

“We’re not in the Valley anymore! Cobra Kai has gone global and Leo and Zach’s new single ushers in this highest level of competition. A tournament anthem inspired by those of the great martial arts and sports movies of the 1980s, this track brings together all their favorite sounds and musicians for a musical odyssey worthy of the world’s greatest karate tournament. It’s a love letter to the music they have explored over six seasons of scoring Cobra Kai that they know will hype the fans for the final twists and turns of this journey.”
