1,064 horsepower. That was the astounding, albeit unruly figure Chevrolet pulled out of the Corvette ZR1’s twin-turbocharged 5.5L V8. In a moment, the range-topping C8 ZR1 became the most powerful Corvette ever and one of the most potent American cars of all time. Now, the 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 laid down acceleration times to rival the fastest cars in the world.
The 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 won’t stop smashing records, including establishing itself as one of the fastest cars ever
The world of performance cars is one of continuous rivalry and competition. One marque builds the most powerful gas-powered production car ever, so another has to out-muscle it. The same goes for top speeds, corner-hugging lap times, and straight-line sprints. For the Corvette namesake, the new 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 refuses to stop smashing records.
For starters, the 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 with the ZTK Performance Package managed to hit 60 mph in just 2.3 seconds. That sort of quickness matches the volcanic Bugatti Chiron and 992 Porsche 911 Turbo. It also narrowly edges out the $342,000 Ferrari 296 GTB. Not bad for a Corvette.
Further into the sprint, the ZTK-equipped Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 cleared the quarter mile in just 9.6 seconds at 150 mph, a second ahead of the 296 GTB. As a result, the C8 ZR1 is the quickest Corvette and one of the fastest-accelerating production cars ever. It dethrones the hybridized Corvette E-Ray by almost a full second in the quarter mile.
However, the ballistic twin-turbocharged Corvette does more than sprint well. In addition to generating over 1,200 lbs of downforce on the track, the ZTK-equipped C8 Corvette ZR1 hit 233 mph in top-speed testing. To put that in perspective, there are only a handful of production cars that will outrun the ZR1, and damn near all of them are seven-figure propositions. Undoubtedly, the ZR1 will be pricier than any other production Corvette’s MSRP to date. However, it’s sure to undercut million-dollar hypercars.

0-60 mph | 2.3 seconds | 2.5 seconds |
¼ mile | 9.6 seconds | 9.7 seconds |
