Chelsea could make a renewed approach for Bayern Munich forward Mathys Tel if Tottenham Hotspur don’t take up the option to buy him.
The Blues were keen on landing the Frenchman during the winter transfer window, but he eventually chose to join Spurs on loan.
As part of the deal, Tottenham can purchase him for €60m, but it is unclear whether the club will consider triggering the big clause.
The 19-year-old has had a tough introduction to English football. He has managed just two goals from nine appearances for Spurs.
Spurs are expected to assess his performances over the coming weeks. If he does not improve, they could decide against purchasing him.
Chelsea are reportedly monitoring his situation closely, as per Ben Jacobs.
The Blues were determined to bring him to Stamford Bridge and could make a fresh proposal if Spurs don’t activate the buy clause.
Manchester United and Arsenal were also linked with the attacker last winter, but they have different plans in mind for the summer.
