Chelsea could make an approach to sign Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.
The 21-year-old signed for the Tractor Boys from Manchester City for £20 million last summer. He has been a key player for them with six goals.
The youngster’s progress has caught the eye of the Blues, considering manager Enzo Maresca was previously an assistant manager at City.
Maresca spoke fondly about the striker earlier this week and The Athletic claim that he is on the radar of the Blues ahead of January.
Chelsea have heavily relied on Nicolas Jackson to lead their attack this term, but they need more ammunition to stay in the top four.
Christopher Nkunku has failed to live up to the expectations and the Blues could make an ambitious move for Delay in the New Year.
Ipswich could be tempted to sell for £40-50m, but City could have the final say. The Mancunian giants have a buy-back clause as part of the deal.
