Carnival cruise director shows off Christmas Day celebrations

Carnival cruise director shows off Christmas Day celebrations

Usually, when you see the Carnival cruise director Kyndall “Fire” Magyar, she’s in front of passengers, leading them in fun events.

For Christmas, however, the Carnival Jubilee “Fun Ship” leader mixed her time between passengers and taking care of the crew.

During the holiday season Carnival holds multiple events to celebrate the crew. That’s a special challenge because holiday week sailings have full passenger loads with even more kids than usual.

That means that an already busy crew has even less free time to go to holiday parties. The cruise line, however, does its best to create something special for both passengers and crew members.

“We had a very Merry Christmas this year,” Magyar shared on her Instagram page.

Highlights included:

  • Team breakfast at Emeril’s
  • Adele came to spend the afternoon onboard
  • Jubilee & Celebration Family Lunch
  • Holiday Show
  • Fun Squad White Elephant Gift Exchange

And while it was Magyar’s friend Adele, not the famous singer, who joined on board, the events she shared showed that both crew and passengers seemed to be sharing in the Christmas/holiday spirit.

Carnival Jubilee was decked out for Christmas

Carnival decorates its ships for the Christmas season (with nods to Chanukah and Kwanzaa) through early January. There are special events during that entire period and special menus on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve.

The cruise line has special events for both Christmas and Chanukah as well.

“Each night of Hanukkah, services will take place in the atrium lobby at sunset, including prayers and songs,” the cruise line website says.

Christmas, as you might imagine, gets even more attention.

“With a festive on-board atmosphere, elaborate decorations and an array of traditional cuisine, entertainment and activities, Carnival’s ‘Fun Ship’ holiday cruises are the ideal option for reconnecting with friends, families and loved ones,” according to Carnival.

It’s meant to be fun for all ages.

“A festive mood is created as soon as guests arrive on board, with the ship’s atrium and promenade areas lavishly decorated in the spirit of the season starting early December,” it adds.

“There’s even a special mailbox for letters to Santa! Guests will gather for the lighting of the Christmas tree in the ship’s atrium, caroling to Christmas classics and for fun, trying their luck in an Ugly Sweater Competition. An extra-special, live-on-stage Holiday Show puts everyone in the spirit.”
