Marriott International, Inc. has signed an agreement with Xiamen Green Development Investment Group to launch The Ritz-Carlton in Xiamen Island, Fujian Province. This move is part of the company’s ongoing commitment to expand its brand presence across southern China.

The new Ritz-Carlton will be located in the Siming District and is part of a larger mixed-use development project. This includes retail spaces, a 340-meter office tower set to be the tallest landmark in Xiamen, and Marriott Executive Apartments for extended-stay options.

The hotel’s location offers sea views from many of the guest rooms. It is close to key corporate and leisure hubs, making it an attractive destination for business and leisure travelers. The hotel is conveniently located near Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport, a metro station, local eateries, and retail shops. The nearby Xiamen First Pier provides ferry access to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Gulangyu Island.

The Ritz-Carlton, Xiamen will feature 228 guest rooms, including 35 suites, dining options, a grand ballroom, meeting rooms, a 25-meter indoor swimming pool, a fitness center, and a spa.

The Marriott Executive Apartments Xiamen, located below the Ritz-Carlton, will include 144 fully furnished apartments, a Residents Lounge, a shared swimming pool with The Ritz-Carlton, a private meeting room, and a fitness center. These apartments are designed for long-term business travelers and families.

This agreement marks a significant expansion of Marriott International’s footprint in Xiamen, a port city that is becoming a popular tourist destination and actively developing its marine high-tech sector. Marriott International now has five properties in the region, catering to both business and leisure travelers.
