Andre Onana was quick to add insult to injury after Man United took the lead against Lyon, with the under-fire goalkeeper turning and celebrating directly in front of the visiting fans.
Manuel Ugarte made it 1-0 within 10 minutes of the second leg of their Europa League quarter-final clash when he fired in from close range following Alejandro Garnacho’s driven pass across the box from the right flank.
Onana then walked towards his own corner flag in front of the south-east stand at Old Trafford where the away fans sit, and laughed in celebration.
And the Cameroonian shot-stopper did not stop there, as he was at it again for United’s second goal when Diogo Dalot made it 2-0.
The full back shrugged off Nicolas Tagliafico’s challenge to drill a low strike across the face of goal and into the bottom left corner.
Onana then faced the away end again, this time pumping his fists at the Lyon faithful.

Onana’s antics come just a week after his double howler condemned United to a draw in Lyon
This comes just a week after his double howler denied United victory in the first leg of the tie, as they were held to a 2-2 draw in France.
Amorim’s men performed admirably to recover from their early setback when Onana flapped at a cross and saw the softly hit delivery bounce over him and into the goal.
But all of their efforts were undone in the 95th minute when the keeper palmed a close range drive straight into the path of Rayan Cherki to draw Lyon level.
Onana’s antics also follow on from his feud with former United player Nemanja Matic going into the first leg fixture.
It began with Onana claiming that United are ‘better than’ their opponents, with Matic, who left Old Trafford in 2022, hitting back by branding the Cameroonian ‘one of the worst goalkeepers’ in the club’s history.
Onana then clarified his comments about Lyon but took a dig at Matic’s five trophy-less years with United in a post on X.
He wrote: ‘I would never be disrespectful to another club. We know that tomorrow will be a difficult game against a strong opponent. We focus on preparing a performance to make our fans proud.
‘At least I’ve lifted trophies with the greatest club in the world. Some can’t say the same.’
