Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim is prepared to replace Antony with Sporting Lisbon wonderkid Geovany Quenda, according to Daily Star.
Antony has been with the Red Devils for the last two-and-a-half seasons, but he has scored only 12 goals from 87 outings in all competitions.
He is currently the fourth-choice winger in the squad behind Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford and Amad Diallo and reports claim that Amorim has given the green light to offload him this winter.
United are prepared to cut their losses on their £82 million signing. They are open to selling him to the highest bidder or loaning him out elsewhere.
The club are also ready to negotiate payment terms with Sporting for Quenda ahead of a potential transfer at the end of the campaign.
The 17-year-old wonderkid has a £84 million release clause in his deal, but United are aiming to make an initial offer in the region of £33 million.
The club are planning to sign him as early as January in an advanced deal.
United can’t register him until the summer. Brexit rules don’t permit the registration of players under the age of 18 as things stand.
