Alisha Lehmann has brought the jogo bonito to the sands of Dubai in a warning to her Switzerland bosses: do not overlook me for the European Championship.Â
Juventus star Lehmann, who is in a high-profile relationship with former Aston Villa star Douglas Luiz, has been left out in the penultimate international break before the tournament due to injury. Â
But she was in no mood to let the setback get her down, as she took a football, a mobile phone, and a smile to a beach in Dubai for a Sunday morning workout.
The forward, 26, posted a video on Instagram of her pulling off various skills and completing drills barefoot in a scene more reminiscent of Rio de Janeiro than the United Arab Emirates.
By the crystal clear waters, Lehmann did keepy-uppies, volleys, shuttle runs, and passing drills.
Lehmann, who used to play for Villa, West Ham, and Everton in the Women’s Super League, has been back in England recently as a coach in the new Baller League alongside Maya Jama.

The six-a-side tournament, packed with former footballers and social media stars, is on Sky Sports and YouTube every Monday until mid-May.Â
Lehmann was previously involved in the first version of the Baller League in Germany in 2023.Â
She will hope to make Switzerland’s Euros squad, but it will be a battle after she also missed the international break in February due to a thigh injury.Â
Switzerland boss Pia Sundhage has insisted there is a way back for Lehmann, but admitted her injury has hampered her cause, with the Euros in her home nation now just two months away.Â
‘We want to put together the best team, maybe not with the best players,’ Sundhage said. ‘The doors are open to everyone. At the end of the day, there will be a chance for everyone.’
Explaining Lehmann’s absence, Sundhage added: ‘She was injured and hasn’t played for Juventus in a long time. She needs time to show that she belongs in the team.’
Switzerland have been placed in Group A for Euro 2025, alongside Norway, Finland and Iceland. Their first game will be against Norway on July 2, and it is far from guaranteed that Lehmann will be part of the squad.
Lehmann joined Juventus alongside her boyfriend Douglas Luiz last summer.

But she has only played 702 minutes across all competitions, scoring twice.
Luiz has also struggled in his first season with the men’s team, failing to score a goal in any of his 22 appearances.
He has been sidelined with a hamstring injury, while Juventus sacked their manager Thiago Motta last month over the weekend after falling out of the top four in Serie A, appointing Igor Tudor in his place.
It has been a difficult period for the couple with their respective football careers, but Lehmann is still enjoying success away from the pitch.
She signed a new lingerie deal with Italian fashion brand Tezenis Underwear in February and modelled their collection for Valentine’s Day.
