Dusit Hotels and Resorts has partnered with Indian luxury hotel and resort developer Shravanthi Hotels and Resorts Private Limited to establish its first wellness retreat in India. Named Devarana Sakleshpur, Karnataka – A Dusit Retreat, the property is expected to open in March 2028.

The new retreat marks the first Devarana – Dusit Retreat project outside of China, demonstrating Dusit’s objective of extending its luxury wellness resort brand to selected global destinations.

Devarana Sakleshpur will host 75 luxury villas and suites, ranging from 47 to 90 square meters, with 25 units featuring private plunge pools. The retreat will offer wellness facilities, including a dedicated Devarana Wellness Centre with a gym, movement studio, and herbal steam room. Personalized programs and wellness consultation services will also be available to cater to guests’ diverse wellness paths.

Additional amenities include an infinity pool, a South Indian specialty restaurant, and an all-day dining venue offering nutritious meals.

Situated in the scenic Western Ghats, a four-hour drive from Karnataka’s capital, Bangalore, Sakleshpur is recognized for its lush coffee, tea, and spice plantations, historic temples, and trekking trails through the Bisle Reserve Forest. Near the retreat are popular attractions such as the star-shaped Manjarabad Fort and Jenukallu Gudda Peak, with views of the Arabian Sea. The Mangalore International Airport is 130 km away.

Gilles Cretallaz, COO of Dusit International, expressed excitement about the new venture, stating that the serene beauty of Sakleshpur aligns well with the holistic essence of Devarana – Dusit Retreats.

Santosh Balakrishna, Executive Director of Shravanthi Hotels and Resorts Private Limited, shared that the partnership with Dusit Hotels and Resorts aligns with their vision for a unique project that combines luxury and well-being.

Dusit Hotels and Resorts will also re-enter India this December with the soft opening of dusitD2 Fagu, near Shimla, in the forested Himalayan foothills. Four more Dusit-branded hotels are planned for Karnataka, set to open in mid-2026. Dusit’s portfolio currently includes 301 properties across 18 countries, including 57 under Dusit Hotels and Resorts and 244 luxury villas under Elite Havens.
