“Hacks” is back.
The new season will premiere with two episodes on Thursday, April 10 at 6 p.m. ET. The ten-episode season will continue with two episodes each week, up until the season finale on May 29. The best way to stream “Hacks” is on Max, which offers plans starting at $9.99/month. The official logline for Season 4 reads, “Tensions rise as Deborah (Jean Smart) and Ava (Hannah Einbinder) endeavor to get their late-night show off the ground and make history doing it.”
In the trailer, we see Deborah and Ava walk out of a conference room, tensions boiling between them. “Well, aren’t you a big brave girl?” Deborah sneers. “I guess I am. It’s for the best,” Ava quips back. Deborah looks Ava directly in the eyes before calmly responding, “We’ll see.”
Joining Einbinder and Smart for Season 4 are Paul W. Downs, Megan Stalter, Carl Clemons-Hopkins, Mark Indelicato, Rose Abdoo, Dan Bucatinsky, Helen Hunt, Tony Goldwyn, Kaitlin Olson, Jane Adams, Lauren Weedman, Christopher McDonald, Poppy Liu, Lorenza Izzo, Johnny Sibilly, Paul Felder, Polly Draper, Luenell and Aristotle Athari. Previously announced cast members include Julianne Nicholson, Michaela Watkins, Bresha Webb, Robby Hoffman, Eric Balfour, Danny Jolles, Gavin Matts, Grover Whitmore, III, Holmes, Jasmine Ashanti, Katy Sullivan, Matt Oberg and Sandy Honig.
The show was a major success throughout its first three seasons, earning a total of 48 Emmy nominations (and nine wins) but the newest installment will have to compete with Season 3, which critics hailed as the show’s best yet.
