Jaguar will soon be an automaker that doesn’t make any cars. I-Pace and E-Pace end production next month. The F-Type, XE, and XF are already dead. The F-Pace factory will go silent in early 2025, just in time for Jaguar’s new EVs to enter the scene. There’s just one problem. The EVs aren’t entering the scene.
That won’t happen for almost two years, according to a report from Autocar. JLR CEO Adrian Mardell said the first of three new EVs is still in testing, and it won’t go on sale until the summer of 2026. That leaves just the F-Pace to carry the brand, but with plans to end production in a few months, there will be a sizable gap in Jaguar’s production. The company will keep selling the F-Pace in some markets through early 2026 until it’s dropped, reports Autocar. But it’s already gone from Jaguar’s home market in the UK, as are all new Jaguars.
As for the new all-electric lineup, we haven’t even seen a concept yet. That will happen in early December, when Jaguar plans to reveal a four-door, high-performance Porsche Taycan rival in the US. That should preview the company’s first production model now slated for 2026. It will utilize the Jaguar Electrified Platform, created to accommodate a range of new EVs that’ll include two SUVs that will follow the sedan. At this point, it’s unclear when those SUVs will arrive.
These vehicles won’t be moderately priced EVs for the masses, however. Jaguar’s electric reinvention includes moving the brand further upmarket to compete with the likes of Bentley. Given the waning demand for electric vehicles and uncertainty surrounding the US market, Jaguar’s struggles are likely far from over.
