2 people are facing charges after a road violation led to Nevada police finding almost 300 grams of drugs

One of the two drugs is especially heinous.

Police officers could find pretty much anything during a traffic stop. Recently, officers in Nevada pulled over a vehicle, and the people inside ended up with trafficking charges. Of course, they are facing some serious time behind bars for breaking the law and transporting drugs. Both drugs they had in the car have negative impacts, but one of the two is especially serious as its use is often non-consensual.

Being found with this amount of during during a traffic stop is a recipe for disaster

According to Fox 11 Reno, police officers in Douglas County noticed a vehicle committing a traffic violation on December 24th. Naturally, they pulled the car over for a traffic stop, talked to the people about what they did wrong, and gathered their identifying information. However, the officers on the scene observed what they considered to be suspicious behavior.

Due to the strange behavior during the traffic stop, the police employed the help of a drug sniffer dog. Of course, the K9 alerted to the presence of narcotics, which prompted a search of the vehicle. During the search, the officers found 165 grams of suspected meth. They also located 115 grams of what they believed to be liquid gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB.) Notably, the ladder of the two is often used in sexual assaults, making the actions of these people even more heinous.

The police officers identified the two people as Jacob Paul Hoffman, 46, and Jamie Nikole Woods, 45. Following the traffic stop, they charged the two people with trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of burglary tools. Their bond amount is unknown.
