Truck driver led police on a multi state drunken chase before barricading himself to avoid arrest

It’s probably safe to say this truck driver is out of a job.

Truck driving is a well-respected industry. Naturally, we depend on these drivers to transport essential goods. Because of this, we don’t assume they’ll decide that driving under the influence is a good idea. Sadly, this happened with one driver recently, and it took police officers from multiple states to get him to adhere to a traffic stop. Of course, there’s a ton of trucking news right now, but this story is pretty off the charts.

Not only did he decide driving under the influence was a good idea, but he also ignored a traffic stop

The field of truck driving doesn’t exempt people from the police pulling them over for a traffic stop. Of course, this could happen for all sorts of reasons. According to WLBT, the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department received word from the Louisiana State Police that an 18-wheeler had evaded a traffic stop. Notably, the officers in Louisiana believed the truck driver was headed for Rankin County.

After a while, a deputy found the 18-wheeler and tried to make a traffic stop. However, the driver didn’t pull over, and the Pearl Police Department later assisted in the effort by putting spike strips in his path. Of course, this eventually stopped the truck driver, and the police on the scene were able to attempt to make contact with the driver. Still, they had to break one of the windows of the cab because the driver, David Sergey Pozdnyakov, from South Carolina, barricaded himself in the vehicle.

Now, he has multiple charges following the traffic stop. They include driving under the influence, felony fleeing, disobeying a police officer, and careless driving. The report also says more charges are expected. Based on recent trucking news, the driver is probably out of a job.
