Asian cuisine enhances Grand Velas Los Cabos’s robust Food & Beverage offerings, including Michelin star recipient Cocina de Autor, included in the nightly rate.
CABO SAN LUCAS, MEXICO – Grand Velas Los Cabos announces the opening of its newest fine dining restaurant, Sen Lin. This sophisticated dining option invites guests to embark on a sensory journey through Asia, where authentic ingredients and innovative techniques come together to create an extraordinary experience. Every detail of the menu reflects a deep respect for Asian gastronomic traditions while embracing modern techniques to elevate the experience.
Under the expert guidance of Chef Víctor Gerardo Hernández Osorio, Sen Lin presents an unparalleled exploration of Asian cuisine. Born in Tabasco, Mexico, and trained in Cancún, Chef Víctor has honed his craft over nearly two decades, working alongside celebrated Thai chefs and earning accolades at international culinary festivals, including Millesime in Centro Banamex CDMX and multiple Thai Food festivals in Mexico. His creative vision for Asian fusion cuisine shines through every dish, skillfully balancing bold flavors and high-quality, fresh ingredients. Prior to his role at Grand Velas Los Cabos Chef Osorio worked at various Banyan Tree and Angsana properties, and also trained chefs in Asian cuisine.
Highlights of the menu exclusive to Grand Velas Los Cabos are Massaman curry, Pho phia sod (fresh Vietnamese rolls), Pho phia thod (fried vegetable and chicken rolls), Ramen Sen Lin, and Satay goong (shrimp satay). The menu also features delicate Vietnamese spring rolls with crab and tamarind peanut sauce, silky coconut Tom Kha Gai soup infused with kaffir lime and galangal, and classic Phad Thai. For those seeking something indulgent, dishes like Massaman curry with braised beef and lychee or Panang duck breast with roasted palm hearts are a highlight. Sen Lin’s carefully curated menu includes a variety of vegetarian, nut-free, and seafood options to suit every palate.
Complementing the menu, a thoughtful selection of beverages elevates the dining experience. Signature cocktails such as the Laila, crafted with tequila, lychee, and beet ginger foam, or the refreshing Sake & Tea, featuring sake and green tea, offer a perfect pairing for the bold Asian flavors. Alcohol-free options like the Black Mint mocktail or the exclusive Runneght Tonic provide delightful alternatives.
The dedication to exceptional cuisine is matched only by the restaurant’s atmosphere. The elegant-casual ambiance invites guests of all ages to savor every moment, whether they are enjoying family time or a romantic evening. Sen Lin was designed by Larissa Garcia of Cassal Diseño Designs. Rich designs, details and dramatic spaces were achieved with both natural and authentic elements. Damasco marble, green Onyx, petrified marble, and high-gloss wood were all specially treated to create high-contrast light effects full of shadows and highlights. By playing with lighting, heights, textures, materials and colors, Garcia created a series of ambiances, each with its own charm and feel. To offer each guest a unique experience, each space has at least one dramatic element that distinguishes it from the rest such as a marble-covered center column, an undulating crystal lighting curtain, and antique mirrors in the walls. The design unites as a whole with the furniture selection, a warm color palette and smaller decorative elements.
As part of the resort’s commitment to offering exceptional dining experiences, the restaurant transports guests on a cultural and gastronomic adventure. The restaurant complements the resort’s other signature fine dining restaurants including Cocina de Autor, which was recently awarded Los Cabos’ only MICHELIN Star. Sen Lin is available for guests staying at Grand Velas Los Cabos included in the nightly rate and is also open to the public with reservations required in advance.
