[Watch] A man dressed as Captain America rescued by real-life hero after highway breakdown

A man dressed as Captain America headed to a children’s hospital broke down on the highway, and was rescued by an officer

Colorado Captain, a man in Denver, Colorado was in a pickle last week while driving down State Highway 470. His customized antique Harley Davidson, themed after Steve Rogers’, broke down.

The Captain was headed to a children’s hospital in Highland’s Ranch. According to locals, he’s a regular at children’s hospitals to bring some joy to young patients while they endure treatment, reported NewsNation.

Douglas County Sheriff’s Office deputy Zach Zepeski arrived on the scene and immediately took pity on the good Samaritan. To get the Colorado Captain to his destination safely, he decided to extend a hand.

“Alright, here’s the deal,” Zepeski said, recorded by his bodycam. “I can’t in good conscience leave a nice motorcycle and, given that you’re going to a children’s hospital and doing all that, I got a tow truck coming.”

The officer paid the tab

Zepeski paid for the tow truck to ensure the Captain’s motorcycle stayed safe, and he got to the hospital.

“It’s Christmastime,” the deputy said when Colorado Captain tried to protest. The officer appeared to be both a fan of the Captain’s deeds, and his motorcycle.

Zepeski said part of the reason he paid the bill for the truck was to preserve the motorcycle because he’d “never forgive” himself if it ended up stolen from the highway.

“I’m so grateful,” said the Captain. “I mean this, from the bottom of my heart.”
