3 Florida men are behind bars after a traffic stop uncovered fentanyl and a link to multi-state ATM theft

They’re facing some serious charges.

Drivers could be subjected to a traffic stop for several reasons. However, this often occurs due to some form of road violation. This police encounter happened recently in Florida, but it led to the people in the car being linked to other crimes. Now, they’re facing some serious charges.

This story shows why traffic stops are essential for public safety

According to WEAR-TV, police recently pulled over a vehicle with three men inside due to a window tint violation. Naturally, once the officer made contact with the men, they took their identifying information and processed it through the database. However, the officer learned that the three men, Andrew Bishop, 18, Brad Fokam, 19, and Dylon Thomas, 20, had been involved in several ATM thefts in Mississippi, Alabama, and parts of Florida.

However, that’s not all the police learned about the three men during the traffic stop. Upon searching the vehicle, they found enough fentanyl for trafficking, synthetic cannabinoids, marijuana, and items for burglarizing ATMs. Notably, the men used a system involving super-glued cards to disable ATMs. They would then attack the repair person and steal the cash. Regarding charges, they have trafficking fentanyl, possession of synthetic drugs with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance, and two of the men have charges for providing a fake ID.

It’s unclear when these men will have to appear in court following the traffic stop. However, it should be noted that the theft ring is believed to originate from Houston, Texas. Hopefully, this is a step toward putting an end to the whole operation.
