EuropaCorp Inks Output Deal With Canada’s VVS Films

Luc Besson’s EuropaCorp has signed a multi-year output deal with Canadian distributor VVS Films. The first project to come through the  deal, which will see VVS acquire and distribute all of EuropaCorp’s films in Canada, will be Transporter: Legacy, the franchise reboot scheduled for release June 19, 2015.

EuropaCorp and VVS previously partnered on Brick Mansions, starring the late Paul Walker.

The deal is being touted as complementary with Europacorp’s domestic distribution joint venture with Relativity, RED.

“After the creation of our distribution company in the U.S., this is a new step to ensure success of EuropaCorp’s English movies,” EuropaCorp CEO Christophe Lambert said in announcing the deal.

EuropaCorp already has a number of international output deals in place including with Fundamental Films in China, Universum in Germany, Scanbox in Scandinavia, and Gulf Films in the Middle East.
