Two Premium Bonds holders have scooped the tax-free million-pound jackpot in November’s draw. Are you a winner?
The first Premium Bonds millionaire is from Warwickshire, holding the maximum £50,000 allowed in Premium Bonds. Their winning bond number – 286CJ469715 – was purchased in November 2016. They become the ninth jackpot winner from Warwickshire.
Meanwhile, the second million-pound winner is from Cornwall, with their bond number 567MN061686 being selected. They bought the winning number just a few months ago in January 2024, and they hold a total of £38,000 in Premium Bonds.
‘Ernie’ (NS&I’s electronic random number indicator equipment) has drawn more than six million prizes this month, worth more than £463m.
A total of 6,025,741 prizes worth £463,982,050 will be paid out in the November 2024 prize draw. There were 126,540,562,896 bond numbers eligible for the draw.
Since the first draw in June 1957, Ernie has drawn 725 million prizes with a total value of £33.7bn.

Dax Harkins, NS&I’s chief executive, said: “As we celebrate 68 years since Premium Bonds originally went on sale, it’s great to see how the product has evolved into a beloved part of British culture, with over 22 million people saving with them.
“This month, we’re delighted to welcome two new millionaires from Warwickshire and Cornwall. With millions of prizes drawn monthly, Premium Bonds remain a popular way to save while continuing to offer the thrill of potential tax-free wins. Remember, the best way to check if you’ve won this month is by using our app, website, or Alexa.”
While the million-pound jackpot winners find out on the first working day of the month, for everyone else, you’ll need to wait until tomorrow (Saturday 2 November) to see if you have won. You can check the NS&I website, the prize checker app, or ask ‘Alexa’.
Celebrating 68 years of Premium Bonds
This November marks the 68th anniversary of Premium Bonds going on sale. Launched on 1 November 1956, Premium Bonds aimed to make saving accessible for all.
On the first day alone, Brits snapped up £5m worth of bonds, and it has since become one of the nation’s favourite savings products, with £33.7bn paid out in prizes so far.
Unclaimed prizes
Premium Bonds prize winners are notified when a prize is won, but sometimes people move or change their contact details without letting NS&I know. This can lead to unclaimed prizes if the bond holder has opted to receive prizes by cheque rather than paid directly into a bank account.
In Warwickshire, there are currently 17,129 unclaimed prizes worth £600,975. The largest unclaimed prize in Warwickshire is worth £10,000 from the January 2005 draw.
Meanwhile, in Cornwall, 20,530 prizes with a total value of £724,075 are waiting to be claimed. The largest unclaimed prize is £25,000 and this was from the September 2019 prize draw.
More than nine in 10 prizes are now paid directly into winners’ bank accounts or automatically reinvested into more Premium Bonds. This way is quicker and more secure than waiting for a cheque.
People can check for unclaimed Premium Bonds prizes easily by using NS&I’s online prize checker or the prize checker app using their holder’s number.
There are currently 2,473,761 unclaimed prizes worth £89,696,075 waiting to be claimed by holders of Premium Bonds.
