Hilary Swank to Be Honored at Colleagues Spring Luncheon

Hilary Swank will soon have another trophy for her case.

The two-time Academy Award winner has been selected to receive a Colleagues Champion of Children Award for her philanthropic endeavors and work with youth and animals through her Hilaroo Foundation. The honor will be presented to her by Kathy Bates during during the 36th annual Colleagues spring luncheon at the Beverly Wilshire hotel in Beverly Hills on May 8.

In 2015, Swank founded the Hilaroo Foundation, a nonprofit with a mission born from her deep love for animals and commitment to supporting at-risk youth by fostering healing and growth. One of the nonprofit’s core programs is the Hilaroo Camp, a summer session hosted by FosterAll that benefits 100 foster youth in Los Angeles. During the five day camp, campers are paired with foster dogs for an exercise in bonding, responsibility and social and emotional learning. Swank’s vision is to expand Hilaroo one day with a dedicated facility that goes beyond the camp-style outing to support youth and help animals find forever homes.

Swank most recently starred on the big screen opposite Alan Ritchson in Ordinary Angels and on the small screen in a two episode arc on Yellowjackets.

Entertainment Tonight host Nischelle Turner has been tapped to host the Colleagues event, which will also feature a presentation of Oscar de la Renta’s fall 2025 collection from Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia and a nod to the Colleagues 75th anniversary. Founded in 1950, the nonprofit is backed by a group of women who volunteer their time and expertise to supporing underserved women, children and families across Los Angeles. Jaye Rogovin serves as president of the Colleagues with Anne Johnson as executive chair. The luncheon is being produced by Scott Mauro through his Scott Mauro Entertainment for a 15th consecutive year.
