Postecoglou is heading out of the North London club no matter what happens in the Europa League or Premier League
Ange Postecoglou – will he have the last laugh at Spurs? – Game On
Ange Postecoglou is set to leave Tottenham this summer whether they win the Europa League or not, according to a report.
The former Celtic boss has come under fire for overseeing a dismal domestic season, with Spurs sitting 16th in the Premier League after 18 defeats, the latest coming at home to Nottingham Forest on Monday night.
Despite that, the North London club are still in with a chance of silverware, with a Europa League semi-final to come against Norwegian outfit Bodo/Glimt.
Postecoglou appeared to heap pressure on himself when he declared earlier this season that he ALWAYS wins a trophy in his second campaign in charge of a club.
However, the Telegraph now claim that the 59-year-old will be heading for the exit this summer whether his side lift the trophy or not, although whether he’s sacked or leaves of his own according may depend on the success or otherwise.
The relationship between Postecoglou and the clubs fans has fractured, with the boss becoming in several altercations with angry punters over the course of the season.
Bournemouth’s Andoni Iraola and Fulham’s Marco Silva have been touted as leading candidates to replace Postecoglou, while former gaffer Mauricio Pochettino has openly admitted he’s keen on a return.
