Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has given a debut to a talented youngster for his side’s Premier League game at home to Wolves.

Amorim has elected to make alterations to his team following the dramatic 5-4 victory against Lyon in the Europa League on Thursday, when they scored three goals in seven minutes to seal a remarkable comeback and reach the semi-finals.

United have gone three Premier League games without a victory but will be determined to overcome Wolves.

Amorim’s team go into the game in 14th place in the table and the Portuguese has rotated his side, with his team having had less than 72 hours to prepare after the Lyon clash went to extra time.

The likes of Leny Yoro, Harry Maguire, Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot have all been named on the bench for United.

Jonny Evans, whose last appearance for United was in December, is back available after injury.

Defender Tyler Fredricson, 20, has been named in the starting lineup for United against Wolves.

Fredricson has previously been on the bench for United in the Premier League and the Europa League.

‘He’s really composed, he’s really humble,’ said Amorim. ‘Every training that he is with the first team, he’s really focused on every detail of training, so he’s really good on the ball, so it’s a good opportunity for him.’

Andre Onana is in goal, while It is anticipated that Fredricson will play alongside Victor Lindelof and Noussair Mazraoui in a back-three for United, with Patrick Dorgu and Harry Amass as wing-backs. 

Manuel Ugarte and Christian Eriksen are in midfield, with Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho operating behind Rasmus Hojlund. 

United’s bench is comprised of Tom Heaton, Maguire, Yoro, Dalot, Evans, Mason Mount, Fernandes, Casemiro and Chido Obi. 

Fredricson was first called up in the latter competition by Erik ten Hag for a game against Real Sociedad in 2022.

He has previously been capped by England at Under-18 and Under-17 levels and progressed through the ranks at United’s academy.

The prospect has played 27 times for United at Under-21 level and also featured on 19 occasions for the Under-18s. 

This season Fredricson has often captained United’s Under-21 team. 

He was an unused substitute for Premier League games against Tottenham and Leicester.
