Mickey Rourke was removed from Celebrity Big Brother UK after another incident in which the actor used inappropriate language.
What did Mickey Rourke say about his removal from Celebrity Big Brother UK?
Following an incident involving JoJo Siwa while on set of the reality series, Rourke was removed after another altercation with housemate Chris Hughes. The moment occurred when, while doing a pirate-themed task, Rourke seemed to get angry at Hughes for something.
“You looking at me,” Rourke asks (per Deadline). “Don’t eyeball me.” Hughes then tries to diffuse the situation, telling Rourke it was just a joke. Rourke responds with more anger, telling Hughes “Don’t f—ing eyeball me. You c—.”
Big Brother quickly brought Rourke into the “Diary Room” and chided the actor for repeated issues within the house. Rourke then issued an apology while in the room, saying that he “stepped over the line.”
“I’m sorry. I can’t take it back, you know, I stepped over the line,” Rourke said. “And I take responsibility for doing the wrong thing. ‘Cause I lost my temper, and I’ve been trying to work on it my whole life and I wish I would have had better self-control and I’m very sorry. I’m ashamed of myself for losing it for a few seconds there. Nobody got touched or hurt. Maybe some feelings got hurt or maybe others have feelings about others getting upset but, you know, I’m sorry about that.”
Big Brother then decided to remove Rourke from the home. In his parting words with the series, he apologized again, saying that he did wrong and was “ashamed” of himself for how he acted.
“I blame myself, I know it was my bad. You know, I’ve got a short fuse and I know I upset a lot of people out there, you know. And I’m sorry for that. I’m actually ashamed of myself for getting that hot. I went over the line, you know, I did wrong. I guess, like they say, I’m a work in progress. I just wanna pack my bags and leave, you know. I wanted to leave yesterday actually but I wasn’t chosen.”
