The same 1.2L 3-cylinder NA Petrol engine with dual-cylinder i-CNG technology will be carried over with 2025 Tata Tiago and Tigor
Tata Motors has been one of the leading manufacturers operating in the budget and affordable car segments. The company has had significant contributions in this price bracket in the form of Indica and Indigo, Indica Vista and Indigo Manza, Bolt and Zest, Tiago and Tigor hatchback and sedan duo.
The current version of Tiago and Tigor duo are soon to be updated to bring them in line with what the competition is offering. The company is likely to launch updated Tiago and Tigor in January or February of 2025. So, we can expect Tiago and Tigor duo to get systematic updates in features, creature comforts and technology.
2025 Tata Tiago And Tigor
Currently, Tiago and Tigor are in their 1st Gen facelifted versions. Tata launched Tiago and Tigor facelifts in January 2020, a hair under 5 years ago. Both vehicles are set for a mid-lifecycle update due to launch sometime in 2025, as confirmed by Tata Motors in a recent investor’s meeting.
The company might launch updated versions of Tiago and Tigor in January 2025 or early February 2025. Marking 5 years since they were last updated in January 2020. These updates are expected to bring in much-needed features and creature comforts to keep up newer and feature-loaded competition. This will help Tata Motors increase sales in coming year.
The word ‘Update” holds more prominence here as there haven’t been any signs of ‘facelift’ test mules yet. Tata Motors has a history of updating vehicles with new and improved features and technology without needing an exterior redesign. Updated Punch and Nexon launched in 2024 with increased features and creature comforts are stark examples of this strategy.
What to expect?
On the outside, we can expect new colours, a darker tint to headlights and tail lights, new set of alloy wheels among other changes. The main changes are highly likely to be concentrated on the inside. For starters, we can expect rear AC vents in 2025 Tata Tiago and Tigor with a front centre armrest. Same changes are also expected with 2025 Tiago EV and 2025 Tigor EV.
Upgrades in infotainment system is an area where Tiago and Tigor needs work. Tata might offer a 10.2-inch infotainment screen that offers wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. We can also expect a wireless charging pad, a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster and even a single-pane sunroof. There’s a good probability of Tata Motors implementing a unified trim structure with 2025 Tiago and 2025 Tigor.
So, current trim lineup including XE, XM, XT and XZ may be replaced with Pure, Adventure, Accomplished and Creative trims (or Personas). The same 1.2L NA Petrol engine with dual-cylinder i-CNG will be carried over. 2025 Tata Tiago will rival 4th Gen Maruti Swift and Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS. Whereas 2025 Tata Tigor will rival Hyundai Aura, 4th Gen Maruti Dzire and the just launched 3rd Gen Honda Amaze.
