Amazon MGM Studios has released The Accountant 2 final trailer for the forthcoming sequel to Ben Affleck‘s 2016 action thriller. Following its world premiere at the 2025 SXSW Film Festival, the R-rated movie is now scheduled to make its debut in theaters on Friday, April 25.
“In the film, Christian Wolff has a talent for solving complex problems. When an old acquaintance is murdered, leaving behind a cryptic message to ‘find the accountant,’ Wolff is compelled to solve the case. Realizing more extreme measures are necessary, Wolff recruits his estranged and highly lethal brother, Brax (Jon Bernthal), to help,” reads the official synopsis. “In partnership with U.S. Treasury Deputy Director Marybeth Medina, they uncover a deadly conspiracy, becoming targets of a ruthless network of killers who will stop at nothing to keep their secrets buried.”

What happens in The Accountant 2 final trailer?
The final trailer continues to the highlight some of the movie’s action-packed sequences, featuring Affleck and Jon Bernthal as brothers Christian and Brax. The video also shows off positive reviews from critics, who are loving the sequel more than the first installment. At the moment, it currently holds a Tomatometer rating of 83% on Rotten Tomatoes, which is 30% higher than the 2016 movie’s current rating.
The R-rated sequel is directed by Gavin O’Connor from a screenplay written by Bill Dubuque. It currently has a total runtime of 125 minutes, or 2 hours and 5 minutes. Daredevil: Born Again star Jon Bernthal is also leading the cast as Brax, the brother of Affleck’s character. Joining them are Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Daniella Pineda, Allison Robertson, and J.K. Simmons. It is produced by Affleck, Lynette Howell Taylor, and Mark Williams.
