“Welcome to the world of Minecraft, where creativity doesn’t just help you craft, it’s essential to one’s survival! Four misfits—Garrett ‘The Garbage Man’ Garrison, Henry, Natalie and Dawn—find themselves struggling with ordinary problems when they are suddenly pulled through a mysterious portal into the Overworld: a bizarre, cubic wonderland that thrives on imagination,” reads the official synopsis. “To get back home, they’ll have to master this world (and protect it from evil things like Piglins and Zombies, too) while embarking on a magical quest with an unexpected, expert crafter, Steve. Together, their adventure will challenge all five to be bold and to reconnect with the qualities that make each of them uniquely creative…the very skills they need to thrive back in the real world.”
What was director Jared Hess’ A Minecraft Movie 2 update?
During a recent interview with Deadline, when asked about the possibility of directing the next Minecraft Movie, Hess expressed his excitement for the potential project, since there’s so much more things left to cover due to how expansive the game is. He also teased that there’s already conversations happening about it, especially after providing fans with a post-credit scene.
“Well, it would be so much fun. We had so much fun making this movie, and it’s such an expansive world in the game, and there were so many things that we didn’t tap into that we wanted to,” He shared. “I would have a blast doing the sequel, and it seems like there’s already talk about it happening, so I’m super excited. It’ll be so much fun to go back into the world. The fans are just having such a good time. We teased it in the end credits and the fans seem to be going wild for it.”
In addition, Hess also confirmed that Alex was the new character they’ve included during the post-credit scene. In the original game, Alex is one of the popular default player skins.
He continued, “The character we teased is Alex, the other massively critical character in Minecraft. It’s Steve and Alex, and so that’s the one that we will be bringing to the table without a doubt.”
