Apple TV+ Free Weekend Announced, 2025 Date Revealed

For the first weekend of 2025, Apple TV+ is treating customers to an all-access pass to their acclaimed shows and movies for free. This comes after more than five years since the streaming platform officially went live in 2019.

When is the Apple TV+ free weekend date?

Apple TV+ will be available to everyone around the world for free, beginning on Friday, January 3 until Sunday, January 5. This weekend, viewers will now have the chance to catch up with popular Apple TV+ series, including The Morning Show, Severance, Ted Lasso, Shrinking, Silo and Slow Horses. In addition, viewers will also have access to the streamer’s most recent movie offerings such as: Wolfs starring Brad Pitt and George Clooney; The Instigators starring Matt Damon and Casey Affleck; Fly Me to the Moon starring Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum; and The Family Plan starring Mark Wahlberg.

At the moment, some of Apple TV+ shows are currently nominated at the upcoming 2025 Golden Globes, which will take place on January 5, 2025. These include: the spy thriller Slow Horses, which earned three nominations for Best Drama, Best Actor (Gary Oldman), and Best Supporting Actor (Jack Lowden); the miniseries Disclaimer, which also received three nominations for Best Limited Series, Best Actress (Cate Blanchett), and Best Actor (Kevin Kline); and the comedy-drama Shrinking, which garnered two nominations for Best Actor (Jason Segel) and Best Supporting Actor (Harrison Ford).

The streaming platform currently has several new shows that are set to debut in 2025, including thriller miniseries Prime Target with Leo Woodall, the crime drama Dope Thief with Brian Tyree Henry, the drama Your Friends and Neighbors with Jon Hamm, and the workplace comedy The Studio with Seth Rogen. Apple Studios is also set to released two high-profile movies next year in the form of the genre-bending action movie The Gorge starring Anya Taylor-Joy and Miles Teller, and the sport drama F1 starring Brad Pitt and Damson Idris.
